Relocating to the more central localities in Malta is ideal if you want to experiance a vibrant city lifestyle, and feel the pace of country living is too slow. It also goes without saying that living in the more central part of Malta means you’re in localities that are in close proximity to the bustling centre.
A myriad of desirable locations in the centre of Malta contain some of Malta’s precious gems in terms of cultural and historical places of interest. Mosta, for example, hosts the St. Marija Assunta Church which has the third largest unsupported dome in the world. The church was designed by a frenchman living in Malta – George Grognet de Vasse. It took local people 27 years to complete this magnificent structure. The Victoria Lines, a line of fortifications flanked by defensive towers that spans twelve kilometres along the width of Malta also crosses through Mosta and its neighbouring localities. Mosta is situated north west of Valletta and has around 20,000 inhabitants.
In the vicinity, one finds San Pawl tat-Tarġa, Birguma, Naxxar and Għargħur. These areas, albeit central, are not overly busy and are perfect locations to live in if one is looking for a place close to work but not too urban to live in. San Pawl tat-Targa and Birguma in particular are two of the few centrally-located villages which are known for high quality, upmarket property, quiet neighbourhoods and open views of the country side. There is a great deal of demand for, Għargħur being a quaint village, parts of which enjoy a valley view.
Attard is located a little further South, within reach of the quiet village of Rabat and neighbouring Mdina – a small, walled in village built centuries ago with an authentic, historical feel. Attard itself is a popular location for property, in particular one of its suburbs that goes by the name of Misraħ Kola. Close to Attard you can find Ta’Qali, which served as an airfield during the Second World War and is known nowadays for the National Park (perfect for family picnics), the National Stadium and its 24h fitness centre. Closeby are Balzan, Lija, Żebbuġ and Siġġiewi, which equally offer a quieter lifestyle.
