During the last EMEA event held in Rome, in a presentation given to those attending, it was revealed that the UNHW population is on the move due to various reasons, prominent amongst which are the internationalisation of business holdings, educational institutions stimulating foreign demand, ease of travel and an increase in required travel as well as the rise of global citizenship investor programmes.
All this is seeing the UHNW crowd moving to locations where such opportunities are centred. Interestingly, 12 of the top 40 most important cities to UHNWI are European. The European cities of London, Paris and Zurich even feature in the top 10, followed by others such as Geneva, Frankfurt, Madrid, Vienna and Milan.
During the EMEA event in Rome, where new offices in Rome and Poland were inaugurated, president and CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates, LLC Philip White stated that,
“Expansion across Europe continues our commitment to providing access to the network’s exclusive real estate services in key cities around the world.”
Sotheby’s International Realty is further strengthening its European network in order to capitalise on its growing potential.
This is good news for Malta. Our island has already been featured as a location of choice as well as a lifestyle and tax haven for foreign investors. Having recently embarked on its own citizenship investor programme, Malta is much more ideally placed and likely to attract the UHNW profile.
